WTW didn't really interest me because it seemed more "gamey" - something it sounds like you agree with - and the Medieval 2 mod was relatively realistic in any case.

Your mod seems pretty cool and ambitious; sounds like you've got plenty of people working on it already. I can't imagine there's anything I in particular would be able to add to it. Good luck with it!

J.SheaJ. You seem to be a Total War player and a fan of "realism" as I am if you play the new Warhammer total war release I would love to have you involved in helping me to create a mod that attempts to take the game to a more "realistic" realm.

If you are interested, and I hope at least you will be if only for the conversation you can contact me on steam
Steam name. I don't begrudge people who like AoS, but it really broke my heart. That loss of such rich verisimilitude in favour of a bizarre and confused pantheonic ideological conflict was painful to behold. It didn't kill my hobby, but it did rather wreck my 20+ years relationship with GW. My hobby group are die-hard fluff gamers and we decided to simply write an alternate storyline where the Old World persisted. In some ways it's good: for those of us who love WFB, it can't be ruined now because it has been scrapped: it exists in our minds and our groups and is what we choose it to be! The art style started going off the rails with WFRP 3rd Edition and Warhammer Online and after that Warhammer was just "high fantasy but with German names". It's a trainwreck. And now the whole End of Times angle is just...it's bad.

The worst part is that I don't even necessarily object to "higher powered" stuff as a dramatic contrast - look at something like Demon's Souls and how it contrasts low-magic with high-magic. But Warhammer Fantasy did it so poorly that instead of looking like primeval forces of magic duking it out, it's just "World of Warcraft, but not".

Basically WHF is good when it's realistic with fantasy elements, and now it's *just* regular old genre fantasy.J.
